Asia pacific economic cooperation summit 2009 (APEC) just took place over the weekend right here in Singapore.
Apec as we all know it was created some 20 years ago, the first of which took place in 1989 in Canberra, Australia.
Apec has since grown to become an internationally recognised summit and conference where leaders and ministers from around the world meet.
The main objectives of the summit revolves around maintaining a sustainable economy on a global level.
Billetral trade agreements and pacts are usually agreed upon at the summit
This year’s summit attracted the likes of foreign dignitaries and ministers such as President Barrack Obama, President Gloria Arroyo and even our very own local ministers.
This year’s summit was a milestone for both American and Singaporean history as it is the first time President Obama has ever visited Singapore.
